The AMS Performance 2022+ Subaru WRX Front Mount Intercooler provides exceptional heat transfer efficiency due to its superior engineering, materials, and construction. Utilizing an industry-leading, highly efficient 4″ thick AMS intercooler core as standard, which was chosen based on our decades of motorsports experience spent optimizing turbocharged applications. This kit comes complete with massive 3″ intercooler piping, custom silicone couplers with ID matched connections, as well as CNC billet connection flanges, and high quality hose clamps and hardware to ensure a precise fit. In addition, we relocated a number of OEM features to retain functionality while improving performance. Tow hook mount integrated into FMIC mounting bracket to retain use of the tow hook, ambient air temperature sensor relocated for improved temperature readings, and windshield washer fluid filler neck relocated for easier installation and improved functionality. With a 347% increase in core volume compared to the factory top mount, higher volume aluminum end tanks, and TIG welded by hand in the USA, the 2022+ WRX Front Mount Intercooler core sets the standard in thermal management for the FA24 engine. While competitors offer a 4″ thick core as an optional upgrade, we elected to offer the 4″ thick core as standard. The massive 26″x12″x4″ bar and plate AMS intercooler core has an astounding 347% increase in volume over the stock intercooler and perfectly fills the factory front bumper opening, maximizing heat transfer efficiency and lowering charge air temps. This allows for increased contact with cool, dense air which leads to increased power output for your WRX. Cooler intake charge air equals more horsepower!

The 2022+ Subaru WRX Front Mount Intercooler was designed using Solidworks© 3D CAD software by our SnailWorks© Engineering Team to be the best performing on the market. Even the smallest details have been thought of, such as our silicone couplers which have been designed to smoothly feed air into the FA24 engine by including smooth transition features inside our custom silicone couplers. Our engineers then took their design one step further by incorporating a tow hook receptacle into the intercooler mount so you’re never left stranded. The attention to detail in the design of the new 2022+ WRX FMIC sets it apart from everything on the market.
Our SnailWorks© Engineering Team set out to make this intercooler upgrade not only the most effective on the market but simple to install. Using the included mounting hardware, the intercooler neatly and securely bolts into place so you or your trusted mechanic can install it quickly and easily. While no trimming of the front bumper is necessary for installation, many customers choose to trim the bumper opening to better show off their AMS intercooler and give it that custom look.
As seen in the graphic below, a number of OEM features are relocated for improved performance and functionality. The ambient air temperature sensor has been relocated to a more central, unobstructed location for improved temperature readings. As well as the windshield washer fluid filler neck has also been relocated to improve access. As mentioned above, the tow hook mount has been integrated into the intercooler mounting bracket to retain functionality of the tow hook, whereas competitors lose the ability to use the tow hook. Our SnailWorks© Engineering Team has thought of everything to not only improve the performance of your vehicle, but also improve the overall user experience.
